WARNING : The contents of the current post might seem like the sickest most M18/R21 thing you've ever read, but it its in fact a PG thing...so relax... :) hehe...tis msg goes out especially to ying xuan xp

I reali had to show u guys tis poem....i did it for lit in first 3 months in MI and its freakin funny...haha!!

My First Time

The sky was dark
The moon was high
All alone
Just her and I
Her hair so soft
Her eyes so blue
I knew just what
She wanted to do
Her skin so soft
Her legs so fine
I ran my fingers
Down her spine
I didn't know how
But I tried my best
To place my hand
On her breasts
I remember my fear
My fast beating heart
But slowly she spread

Her legs apart
And when she did it
I felt no shame
All at once
The white stuff came
At last it's finished
It's all over now
My first time

OK!!!....sounds very M18 doesnt it....cos u didnt read the last line (my MI teacher didnt put in the last line and tried to make us guess wat the poem was about..haha...the answers were...erm...weird...lol)

Here's the last line:

Milking a COW!

holidayssss

the orchard road learning journey was ..... interesting i suppose. haha. i liked the history part. and walking around with my group. i remembered clearing only 2 stations and begging ms huang to give us a lunch break. haha. and YAMI yoghurt after that. lol. but it was a good time for classmate bonding i suppose. and shermaine t and i were at the countin pedestrian station. the 15 mins we were given felt like the longest 15 mins of our lives. haha. and shermaine and i had a mini competition.

suxin: going towards centre point ---> 243 people( or maybe more i might lost count >.<

shermaine: going towards orchard plaze ---> 241 people. she lost to me by 2! haha. ahh oh well we were trying to find sth to entertain ourselves. :)

alright. this holiday is a very much welcomed one. i finally caught up on lost time :D things that i have not been able to do during the school time. muahaha. this year flashed past realllliiiii quickly! and yup the dreaded A's. so this is what i have been doing:

-going back to my secondary school to help out my beloved drama club. it has been fulfilling and FUN! my juniors are all awesome crazy ppl.
- reading. i missed out on reading a lot back in the last few months. as in reading novels. my fav CHICK LIT. HAHA.
- watching the many movies i missed and going out for movie trips like weekly >.< . korean dramas. and black and white movies! and no don't go calling me an auntie/old. black and white movies rock! they have quality actors and wonderful lines. and its just so so so different from some of the nonsensical film we get nowadays :D
-shopping! long awaited, much needed. HAHA.

and hope everyone's having a nice holiday. DO HAVE ONE :D

love,
suxin

and if you, mail me, i send you.

spread the happiness around!

and i shall leave you with lyrics of: time is running out

I think I'm drowning
Asphyxiated
I want to break the spell
That you've created

You're something beautiful
A contradiction
I wanna play the game
I want the friction

You
Will be the death of me
Yeah, you
Will be the death of me

Bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

But our time is running out
But our time is running out
You can't push it underground
You can't stop it screaming out

I wanted freedom
Bound and restricted
I tried to give you up
But I'm addicted

Now that you know I'm trapped
Sense of elation
You'd never dream of
Breaking this fixation

You
Will squeeze the life out of me

Bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

But our time is running out
But our time is running out
You can't push it underground
You can't stop it screaming out

How did it come to this?

Ooh ooh ooh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Ooh ooh ooh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Ooh ooh ooh yeah yeah no no nooo

Yeah, you
Will suck the life out of me

Bury it
I won't let you bury it
I won't let you smother it
I won't let you murder it

But our time is running out
But our time is running out
You can't push it underground
You can't stop it screaming out

How did it come to this?

Ooh ooh ooh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Ooh ooh ooh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Ooh ooh ooh yeah yeah no no nooo

haha.some of the lyrics actually make sense to me.
relate to it? ((:

it rocks!

enjoy.
hahaha.

scream - a geography lesson

is this how you'll look tomorrow when you see your Geog paper? or your results in two weeks' time? :)

this is a famous piece of work drawn in 1893 by artist Edvard Munch. this is what he has to say about what inspired him to draw this (rather pessimistic piece):

I was walking along a path with two friends—the sun was setting—suddenly the sky turned blood red—I paused, feeling exhausted, and leaned on the fence—there was blood and tongues of fire above the blue-black fjord and the city—my friends walked on, and I stood there trembling with anxiety—and I sensed an infinite scream passing through nature.

what's interesting is the 'geography' behind it. why was the sunset sky blood red (ie.redder than usual)?

A: The reddish sky in the background was possibly inspired by the aftermath of the powerful volcanic eruption of Krakatoa in 1883. The ash that was ejected from the volcano left the sky tinted red in much of eastern United States and most of Europe and Asia for quite a while, from November, 1883 to February, 1884.

More facts: Eruption of the Indonesian volcano Krakatoa in August 1883 generated twenty times the volume of tephra (ash) released by the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. Krakatoa was the second largest eruption in history, dwarfed only by the eruption of neighboring Tambora in 1815.

More scattering by the ash particles resulted in only the red frequencies reaching our eyes thus the red sky (this is the same concept as why the sky is red during sunset as the light has to travel a longer distance through the atmosphere thus more scattering occurs).

A clear cloudless day-time sky is blue because molecules in the air scatter blue light from the sun more than they scatter red light. When we look towards the sun at sunset, we see red and orange colours because the blue light has been scattered out and away by the time it reaches our eyes.

oookay. didn't manage to share this interesting nugget in atmos tutorial this year due to time constraints so i'm doing it here after one of you asked about Krakatoa :) but no, we are not setting a 9m question on "Why is the sky blue?". if we do, you could be creative and write along the lines of "Because pink would really be overdoing it".

take a break but not for long, as there's still PW and MT (for some of you). see you all in sch.

love,
miss h

hi everyone

i know it's been a long time since i nagged here. my absence was intentional. in any case, am glad to see wanxin taking over. she's been doing great as a PW rep since term started so make sure you all continue to give her support.

after the rather intense 'civics' lesson on the last Friday of term 3, perhaps you're wondering why i chose to be in teaching despite knowing i'll over-invest myself emotionally. just to share a quote from Dr Ivan Fitzwater:

"I am a teacher! What I do and say is being absorbed by young minds who will echo these images across the ages. My lessons will be immortal, affecting people yet unborn, people I will never see or know. The future of the world is in my classroom today and this future has potential for both good and bad. The pliable minds of tomorrow's leaders will be molded either artistically or grotesquely by what I do.

Several future presidents are learning from me today; so are the great writers of the next decades and so are all the so called ordinary people who will make the decisions in a democracy. I must never forget these same young people could be the thieves and murderers of the future.

Just a teacher? Thank God I have a calling to the greatest profession of all! I must be vigilant every day lest I lose one fragile opportunity to improve tomorrow."

in some ways, that's how i feel.

so i've said right from the start when i first met you - be the class that teachers want to go to and when they are with you, they give their 110%. why shortchange yourself? you might argue that some teachers only give their 85% no matter how well-behaved you are. if that's the case, unfortunately, he/she is still your teacher. as a student in MY class, i expect nothing less than basic courtesy from you all for your teachers. that means controlling your urge to chat/sleep/roll eyes/sigh audibly/whatever other rude behaviour.

this is something i need to instil in all of you because i believe only then will you be respected/loved in time to come. remember, respect and affection needs to be earned.

so why do i want to teach? i might not have very lofty plans like Dr Fitzwater, but at the most basic, I do hope my students benefit in one way or another, be it in character development or in Geography. as a student, i love(d) geog. i chose to teach and i chose to teach geog because i wanted to share my fascination with the subject.

sometimes it does stress me out, when i've got insufficient time to prepare a better, more interesting lesson that will make you guys see why i love geog. there is nothing more frustrating than that. if i had my way, there would be no exams, because then i would probably be able to do away with drilling of DRQ skills.

but you see, nothing in life goes exactly the way you want it. so you just have to make do and make the best out of it. not enough time? too much work to do? prioritise and do what's most important to you, what seems the right thing to do. and sadly, that means not sitting around chatting during breaks/msn-ing/watching anime...

with just 2 weeks left to the promos, please study hard. give your best shot and live with the outcome of your input, without regret.

love,
miss h

the perfect class

i shall intensify my hunt for our very own mr. whiskers. he will be a great help in ensuring the 36-ers be on their best behaviour and complete their work. i already have a candidate in mind - the malayan tiger at night safari. if you ever get to visit, that is one majestic beast you shouldn't miss. when i was there, the tiger came within 1.5m of us and if not for the safety glass separating us, i would not be here nagging you.

i had fun last wednesday going on the AJ race with you all, although it might have been very interesting if we'd all hopped on the wrong bus and ended up at orchard road. a big thank you to huishan and prashanti for doing a wonderful job leading the class, esp huishan with her "claaaaass, walk faster!!" :)

hope the fun continued with your class outing at bugis. ask me earlier next time and maaaaybe i'll seriously consider going too though that would mean we'll have to drop by the national library...

have read through your WR drafts. not too bad... but there is MUCH room for improvement. no worries, that's what the remaining 2 months are for.

just please do not let me see anyone slacking during PW or make me yell at you all again...i can't guarantee i won't burn your drafts as part of my anger management therapy. that sure is more possible than giving you 10 minutes with mr. whiskers.

miss h

clothes maketh the man/woman

yes, i know i have an equally if not worse dress sense than the penguins. maaaaaybe one day we should go shopping together so that you can 'funkify' my wardrobe. maaaaaaybe then you also have more reason to pay attention to me...yes?

i've been in your shoes before so i do know it's a fact school's more interesting when your teachers dress nicely. i would like to try to make your day more bearable too but i'm really born with zero fashion sense so :)

BUT you can make my day better by wearing your uniform properly! as it is, we all know the colours don't help much, so please don't aggravate matters by being sloppy. it really bugs me to see shirts tucked out, missing collar pins...and MISSING TIES on wednesday.

remember i said i love seeing you all in ties?

and didn't some of you asked about petitioning for it to be part of the everyday school u? i know that was a l-o-n-g time ago because it was when i'd just met you as a class and i was quite thrown offguard by your enthusiasm.

so moral of the blog entry today is: pls wear your ties :)

i wanted to discuss last wed's tutorial here for all your dory-like memory's sake but i shall do that another time.

before i go, have a new answer to shermaine's question. yes, i miss the three of them already (c'mon, i'm not as heartless as you think).

hope jac, jalene and natalie are having fun in cambridge! take care you three. we'll see you guys soon.

miss h

we all need a lil magic in our lives

hellos you all.

these days there's only zowie and me blogging. and i'm only keeping it up because i told myself to do so frequently for more contact time between us. so that even when you're online and presumably not doing work, you'll hear miss h's irritating voice saying "GO STUDY!"

well, i spent my saturday reading the deathly hallows. who hasn't and would like to? i can save you the trouble and tell you how it ends. haha.

i would love to teach at hogwarts. aside from the yummylicious food served in the beautiful cavernous dining hall, there's also the lovely setting in which the castle sits. for that, i'll willingly teach for peanuts.

i'm sure it goes without saying too, that you guys would give anything to attend school there...no boring subjects, no PW..like wow.

even if we all prayed hard enough, it'll still remain a fantasy. so let's all return to the reality that is term three.

hang on in there!

miss h

and yet another week has passed...

dear 36-ers,

can't believe i survived a mad friday being a blind bat.

it's only week 3 of term 2 and i'm feeling drained. aren't you guys tired? i feel tired for you! there's so much going on simultaneously in your life: H2s, H1s, GP, MT, PW, SL, CCA and then there's HP (harry potter), BGR, MSN and what have you outside school.. etc etc etc....it amazes me to see a class (okay, 25% of it anw) of energizer bunnies on a friday afternoon.

thank you for agreeing to each run the mile for a good cause, even our very busy harmit has agreed (don't you dare back out now). btw, i've signed up for the Run for Hope too, it takes place 16 Sept Sun and i'm going for the 4k jog (note i didn't say 'run') so join me if you can/want! :)

just want to say term 3 will be especially hectic because there's PW. really hope you guys will be more serious about it because it's not like your other subjects where you get a second chance eg. at the promos, to improve your grade. this is IT and next year you have to live with whatever grade you receive. so let's work hard together alright?

don't forget about your other subjects too. see, aren't you all so busy people?

hope you all had fun at the harry potter movie...i'm looking forward to watching dim sum dollies tmr! yes miss h has a life too...well, sometimes. cya all monday.

love,
miss h

ps/ i know i keep saying i wish i could disappear and not see you guys, but you do know i'm kidding right? 36 may be an incredibly noisy & playful class, but still much too lovable for me to give up on. not now anw :)

deal or no deal?

i have not watched a single episode of that gameshow.

but as i was saying, let's make a deal. it goes like this.

first of all, we will have a class party at the end of the year.

conditions being:

1. all of you must be promoted to J2 (otherwise i'll not be in any mood for a party).

2. your geography grade in the promotional examinations will decide the amount of sponsorship from me. i know you guys are rich and can afford to throw a not-too-shabby party on your own, but that would be using your parents' money and it's not something to be smug about!

how it works: the percentage of grades above C will be the percentage of the costs i will most gladly sponsor. ie.if 80% of the class scores C and above for Geog, i will foot 80% of your bill.

okay?

so deal or no deal? :)

btw, why isn't anyone blogging anymore?

miss h

i guess that is what you all are feeling, now that your nightmarish week is over!! :)
congrats everyone. i'm proud of each and every one of you for putting up a good fight......well i'll really know whether you did after marking your papers.
have a good rest this weekend. check your email for PW matters. trust me, you'll regret it if you do not follow the instructions in there.
on a lighter note, missed you all terribly! looking forward to see you all next week!

amazing grace

this post is for grace, who was very brave yesterday when i was swabbing her wound w antiseptic. hope your knee and elbow are less painful today! welcome to the club of scraped knees - i believe you aren't truly human until you fall and scrape your knee.

to make you feel better, let me tell you how i got my 'badge' to the club of scraped knees. i was running for the bus outside my secondary school and i fell flat on my face. everyone on the left side of the bus saw. and the driver was so nice, he waited for me to pick myself up and hobble up the bus. which means EVERYONE on the bus (including the righties) got to see the tak glam me.
i think my face was redder than my scraped knee.

so you see? grace, you're luckier :)

pls take care! it'll take a long time to heal but in the mean time, you get to be queen and order your fellow 36-ers around.

love,
miss h

sucking too hard on your lollipop, love's gonna get you down.

listening to mika now (:
he's so darn sexy! (in a straight and normal singer way.) his skinny jeans and bouncy curls. (: and dark brown eyes and falsetto voice.
heee.

anyways, after reading ms huang's post, i decided to make a list of to do things tooo (:
and here it is!

1. first thing i think i should do during the holidays is PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY PLAY.
until i look as happy as them (:

2.secondly would be the GSS! (((((((: i so cannot wait. heee.my shopping list consists of shorts, tshirts, shoes (?) and braclets. yay.

the shopping bags must look like this.!

3. i guess it would be homework. heeee.
which leads me to the discovery of this comic strip.heeee.

wonder if i can say that.

4. i have to catch up on my baking ))))):
my cupcake book is crying at me cause i havent been touching it ):

hopefully my cupcakes can look like that by the end of the june holidays.
yay.

and thats about it i guess.with the random tv shows in btwn and church camp, the june holidays should FLYYYYY past me.
like WHOOOSH.

and i just have to leave with a cute poem i found online.

if you can't see, it's :

I hate Homework
Yes I do all kids
Do especially me
Kids have homework
Every [day] so give us a
Break let teachers do
Homework every day
And let them feel the pain.
And that is my poem called
Homework. Thank you.

hyukhyuk.funny (:

all work and no play makes 36 a dull class

well, that would be the argument as to why you should be having fun right? :)
the key is balance. so work hard(er) AND play hard.
you probably shouldn't listen to advice from dinosaurs because you might just end up extinct yourself...but seriously, regret is a very sad feeling. you don't want to ask yourself "what if" questions because they won't change a thing. you'll still be stuck with the unsatisfactory grade - there's no point beating yourself up over it.
so it's better to work hard, give your best shot now. then you'll have the peace of mind to play as much as you want after common test, promotional examinations....prelims, A LEVELS.
hope it does make sense.
i have like a thousand things on my to-do list and i'm blogging here. that makes me a pot calling kettles black.
priorities are important! and they change over time. for example, if right now my priority is 36/07, in 2 years' time it might be to find mr. right :)
so what is your priority now? it's time to rearrange your list.
miss h's priority list:
1. complete all marking
2. complete editing detailed lecture notes
3. prepare for the makeup lecture
4. call your parents
5. clear my table
6. GSS :) i've got no more clothes!
btw, i am very happy today because i got to eat yummy cake! thank you zowie once again for being the livewire who brings cheer to the class. there is nobody else more suited for the role of Welfare Class Leader.
and oh, thank you all for coming for the extra geog lesson. it's always fun to spend time with 36.
love,
miss h

embarrassingly, i was LATE. it's a long story but basically it was a real mad rush. like i only realised on the train i'd worn my teva slippers. sigh. how very unbecoming, hence my reluctance to join the "adults" when we were all milling outside the theatre waiting for our two talented actresses.

i enjoyed the play. really. i don't know what you consider as "crying" - do the tears have to roll down your cheeks before it counts? because i found myself tearing and cheated by stabbing at my eyes to remove the tears with my fingers :)

yes i'm a real crybaby. i'm the type who cry when i watch sad movies.

also, yingxuan actually caught me yawning when the play ended. oops. but like i said, i didn't yawn at all throughout you have to give me credit for the apt timing.

dinner was good too.

and post dinner entertainment was the bit that made me feel young again, for all of a few minutes? it's almost like stepping into a time machine and being transported back to when i was sec 3 (yes we recount our life story by the stage of education we're at, i totally agree).

but so much has changed, it's scary. one day... you guys will know what i mean.

love,
miss h

ps/ i sent naggy email again. pls make sure you received it. cos it has something nice attached to it. for once.

SHOPPING

HEEHEE.
i'm zee orange monster here.

since most of us are girls, we always have to go SHOPPING!(:
but jc life hs been so busyyy that we cannot.
so we are reduced to wearing the same stuff here and there or risk failing tests.

but dont worry.
cos there's always LOCAL ONLINE SHOPS!(:
*everyone say hooray*

yupp.
here are some links.

http://indiesin.livejournal.com/ go there only when you feel slightly rich. nice clothes but kachingkaching.prices of topshop/ dorothy perkins (cheaper by abit) but totally worth it.

36 vs PW

Look everyone! I've found us a "groundbreaker" nobody will contest about......or choose as project idea!

Yes, we do crazy things in the staffroom too. Ironically, to keep ourselves sane.

Finally had some time to post my weekly nag.

Just some questions that occurred to me the last one week.

1. How can jalene and i be so heavy that the entire canteen table can tip over like a see-saw?

2. Why does it seem like some people have more than 24 hours in a day?

3. And on a related point, why do some people succeed while others don't?

Will address Q2 & 3 during civics on Fri :) I suppose Q1 will always remain a mystery.

I also want to log here that I am very disheartened and disappointed over the geog lesson we had today. everything that could go wrong went wrong. murphy's law couldn't have picked a better time. hopefully it will not happen again. time is a priceless commodity and it rankles me to squander one precious hour i have with you all accomplishing close to nothing.

which leads me to the next and last point, i have not been a positive role model myself when it comes to stress management. you guys do know i'm really just joking when i say i want to quit right? :)

quitting is for losers. 36-ers are not losers. therefore we will not give up but fight till the very last.

let's face the dreaded PW head on! that said, i only have one last (really, i promise) point to make. teachers the world over badly want to help those who want to help themselves. when we see that you genuinely want to do well, put in effort and work v hard, we also put in our very best to help you along.

so don't feel guilty if you're eating into my "free periods" or be hurt if i get a little impatient during consultations and keep looking at my watch...at the end of the day, just know i want to give up my lunchtime too if it means you can do well.

hang on in there everyone.

love,
miss h
